Team Celotex take on the Saint-Gobain 350 Anniversary Bike Ride
As you may or may not be aware, this year is a cause for celebration, with Celotex achieving it’s 90th birthday and Saint-Gobain achieving an incredible 350 years in business. So, it’s important we celebrate, and celebrate in style.
Saint-Gobain has already kicked off the year with a bang with an anniversary film illustrating its “350 reasons to believe in the future.” Saint-Gobain also introduced to the world the first of four breathtaking pavilions, placed in elegant Shanghai, China. The pavilions are the perfect visual example of the innovation that Saint-Gobain have continually achieved over the last 350 years and will continue to achieve in the years to come.
That’s not all though! Saint-Gobain have introduced a cycle challenge that will involve 120 colleagues from across Saint-Gobain, cycling from England to France, to celebrate the Group’s 350th anniversary.
What’s the Challenge?
From the 10th to the 13th of July, a small team of six from Celotex will be pushing their bodies to the absolute limit, cycling from London to Blois in France to raise money for our brilliant charities. The team will be cycling 100 miles a day for four days, which is by no means a comfortable summer jaunt. It will be four hard days in the saddle and one that will require adherence to a rigorous training programme. The demands of the four grueling back-to-back days means the team need to be training most evenings and weekends in preparation. It’s a challenge the team are up for, though.
Team Celotex will be raising money for the Saint-Gobain Together Partnership which this year is supporting two charities that do amazing work: Macmillan Cancer Support and the Irish Cancer Society.
If you want to donate to this superb cause please visit the Team Celotex Just Giving page and show your support. We will be updating via our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) and keep your eyes peeled for go-pro footage of the ride!
