IMPORTANT: On 1 September 2017, Celotex took the precautionary measure to temporarily suspend the supply of Celotex FR5000, Celotex CG5000, Celotex CF5000 and Celotex SL5000 while we investigate the results of recent tests (Parts 6 and 7 of British Standard 476). In addition, we have recently identified a compliance issue relating to our calculation and testing of the declared lambda value of products in the 4000 and 5000 ranges and the Crown-Bond and Crown-Fix products within the Crown Flat Roofing range. Due to this issue, the suspension of the 5000 range will continue and now includes the FI5000 and GD5000 products. Materials relating to the 5000 range products are for information only. Please note that all products in the TB4000, GA4000 below 100mm, PL4000 and CW4000 ranges manufactured after 15 December 2017 will be marketed from January as Celotex 3000 with a declared lambda value of 0.023 W/mK.

It is this time of year again, where we have tired and swollen feet from 3 fantastic days at Ecobuild!

Celotex rocked up to the largest construction show this week with the ‘…by Celotex‘ ranges of new innovation and showcased a striking display of fun, practical and educational features through augmented reality, touchscreen games and virtual reality. Among the colourful highlights of the ‘Flat is Back’ campaign we displayed our latest launch of the flat roofing range which comprises three products: Celotex Crown-Bond, Crown-Up and Crown-Fix.

In keeping with the show’s renown for innovation and interaction, the Celotex stand (E4064) offered visitors the chance to ‘Shoot, Share, Win’ in a wonderful social media competition. There was also an opportunity to meet a friendly team of experts from the Celotex Energy Assessment Service who were on hand to discuss visitors’ specific project requirements including advice on how SAP, BREEAM and Thermal Modelling amongst technical and project teams.

Our winner of £200 for Shoot.Share. Win. will be drawn at random next week, but in the mean time take a look and the wacky and wonderful volunteers (including a few staff) and let us know your favourite!

In-built separating layer in Celotex FI5000

Celotex continues to innovate not only through improved website tools like the new and improved U-value Calculator but also through continuous development and improvement of the products we offer.

In the past 18 months Celotex has brought several innovative products to the market.  A perfect example of this is our full fill cavity wall board, Celotex CF5000, which allows designers to achieve the much desired 0.18 W/m2K in a 100mm cavity as standard

Within all Celotex product innovations the need to understand the motivations of the people installing the insulation is paramount. One often asked question from contractors and designers to the Celotex Technical Centre is why we need a separating layer on top of the insulation prior to laying screed. The need to protect the foil face of the insulation from the wet screed, stopping screed migration through the board joints and creating a vapour control layer is the answer. This practice is well established in the insulation industry and has its place when the motivation for a quick completion on site is not so great.

Floors…by Celotex has offered another approach.

Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland, the leader in the habitat and construction materials market are to invest £20million in a production facility for insulation specialists Celotex.

A planning application has been submitted for a brand new production facility for Celotex, the UK’s largest supplier of PIR insulation boards. This new facility will be located next to Saint-Gobain’s Glass manufacturing facility in Eggborough, with expected production due to begin in Spring 2017.
