With the shortlist for the recent BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award dominated by Olympians many people will think back to their favourite Olympics with great sporting achievements from the likes of Sir Steve Redgrave on the rowing lakes, Sir Chris Hoy in the velodromes or Denise Lewis OBE in the heptathlon competition.
My favourite Olympics is the 1992 games in Spain not only did Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe’s brilliant ‘Barcelona’ feature in television coverage but Britain’s Linford Christie won the marquee event of the men’s 100m final in a time of 9.96 seconds. Improvements in sports science and training methods have helped subsequent 100m Olympic champions better this time with Usain Bolt posting an incredible 9.69 seconds at the Beijing Olympics.
The need to ‘go faster’ has not only dominated the world of athletics but has also been seen in the construction industry. The rise in popularity of timber frame houses and off site construction pays testament to this trend for improving the speed of builds.
Which plasterboard insulation would you recommend?
To assist with this need for speed and efficiency Celotex brought to the market insulated plasterboards Celotex PL4000 and more recently GD5000. Both options feature insulation bonded to 12.5mm plasterboards to form a composite product suitable to either mechanically fix or dot and dab depending on your application.
